Frogtown Farm is a proposed urban farm that will create a network for exchange of food, knowledge, ideas and culture. Education is an important part of Frogtown Farm. Youth education will be focused on farming/gardening, science, cooking, nutrition and leadership development. Adult education will be focused on opportunities for Frogtown residents with varying levels of experience and language needs to learn organic, sustainable, locally appropriate farming and gardening techniques.
Frogtown is the most culturally diverse neighborhood in Saint Paul. Not only should we consider cultural diversity, but the diversity of the environment, produce grown, and opportunities offered.

Permaculture principles were the inspiration for this project. These principles are based on patterns and relationships found in nature. (http://permacultureprinciples.com/)
I used principle #7
The images below show how flowing water looks from an arial view and progressively getting close to the ground. We see the patterns that are formed in the farmland, the oxbow that was created and the details of the small puddles. Each is a place where water gathers creating areas of interest.
Model: The wood represents the use of natural materials. The glass is a way to show how the sun can be used to light and heat the building. The copper again is a natural material yet the shape show areas of gathering.
Bubble Diagrams: Both show how I used the idea of a river and how there are areas of gathering as the river flows.
To come up with my floor plan I used the idea of the meandering lines of the river. I drew it onto the outline of the building and then place my rooms.
